The fastest method for propagating pothos (Epipremnum aureum) cuttings: roots in 3 days, a full pot in one month, with a 100 percent survival rate

There are various ways to propagate pothos cuttings: you can root them in water or in soil. I think the fastest rooting method is vermiculite propagation - roots come quickly, the transplant shock period is short, and the survival rate is almost 100 percent
Cut the pothos vines into small sections with aerial roots. They can have leaves or not - as long as they have aerial roots, that is enough. Then fill a flower pot with vermiculite,
Insert the pothos sections one by one, with the leaves facing outward, and just bury the aerial roots in the vermiculite. Then water the pot thoroughly, or you can water from the saucer. Vermiculite has excellent water-absorbing and water-retaining ability, so in a short while it will soak up enough water on its own
Then place the pothos in a ventilated spot with bright, indirect light. Watch the water in the saucer and keep it at about 1 cm at all times. After about 3 days, white roots will emerge, and after about 7 days, the roots will be quite long
After about 10 days, we can transplant them. Because vermiculite contains no nutrients, we need to transplant the pothos into nutrient-rich soil
The soil for transplanting must be loose and airy. You can mix peat moss, perlite and vermiculite, or use whatever materials are available locally - as long as the soil is loose, airy and fertile
Now line the bottom of the flower pot with a drainage layer. I used large particles of coal cinder. Then fill the pot one-third full with soil, set the pothos sections with aerial roots in place, and gently fill in soil around them. Do not press it down with your hands, because the newly rooted roots are very fragile and easily broken, which would affect the transplanting results
After filling with soil, water thoroughly once, then place it in a cool, dark spot for about a week of care. The pothos will then start growing. This kind of soil is very nutritious, so the pothos will grow very fast and will quickly fill the pot
