Snow Pine Brocade

@summer:

The summer I graduated from university, while strolling through the old town with a male classmate, Xiao A, I bought the first succulent of my life.

At the time, I was drawn to the color of its leaves; such a beautiful purplish-red seemed especially rare.

In the months after graduation, many people were in a state of confusion, hesitating over choices about love and work.

Xiao A chose to go abroad to continue his studies.

So we made a promise: if he returned to China 4 years later and this succulent was still alive, we would get married!

4 years later, the Snow Pine Brocade had grown from a small pot into a large pot, and I had also married and had a baby. He returned to China and started a trading company. After all the partings and reunions, he is still unmarried, always saying he wants to fight for his career for life.

This succulent has been kept just like this all along. When I am free and see it, I think of him. One object, one story.

Succulent Gift Box

@beer:

Living the usual nine-to-five life every day, my hobbies and interests seem to have gradually disappeared.

On weekends I just want to lie in bed and sleep, and I cannot get excited about anything!

Last month on my birthday, I received the first succulent gift of my life

I was charmed by these little cuties; I never imagined there could be such beautiful plants in the world.

Ever since I got them, the first thing I do after work every day is rush home to see my succulents.

Now, apart from this succulent gift box my best friend gave me, I have also bought more than a dozen baby succulents at the flower market.

I want to fill the balcony with them; this is the life I long for.

Chinese Sedum

@Yaer:

The first succulent I got was a Chinese Sedum, which grew from a single head into a full pot in bloom.

For the first half year there was no movement at all, and the outer leaves dried up. The change over 2 years was so great that it gave me such a sense of achievement!

This spring it bloomed. No more talking, pictures, pictures??

Peach Egg

@Chaochao Chaoge:

The first succulent I bought was a Peach Egg, and it cost 50 yuan.

At that time, Peach Egg was just starting to be propagated in domestic greenhouses, so the price was still relatively high.

The owner said at the time that there was only this one plant left, so he would sell it to me cheaply.

From then on, I fell into the succulent pit.

In my hands, the Peach Egg went through: mealybugs, its color changing from pink to gray, leaf drop, and finally rot.

I have changed phones n times, and the photos are long gone.

Still, I think the succulents I grow now are not bad. Here is a current Peach Egg.

Cactus

@Ant

During military training in my freshman year, I ran into my first love by chance on the school square. After half a year of crazy pursuit, we got back together.

While strolling through the night market, we met an old person whose tricycle was full of plants. She was overjoyed, jumping and shouting, "I want to buy, buy, buy... flowers..."

The cactus was the first succulent we bought.

Later, because I cheated and was found out, she threw everything related to the two of us downstairs outside my dormitory, cut off all contact, and we never saw each other again.

This cactus has been with me for 9 years, and I have repotted it once.

I do not know how she is doing now. I really want to say sorry to her in person.

Back then,

the image quality was rather poor.
