Clivia not blooming

Your Clivia has been growing for three to five years, the leaves look normal, but it has never bloomed! When Clivia does not bloom, it is usually

soil lacking nutrients

that causes it, so it is best to change the soil for your Clivia once a year.

1. Take it out of the pot

Before changing the soil, stop watering the Clivia for 5-10 days so the soil moisture evaporates, which makes it easier to remove from the pot without damaging the roots.

2. Trim the roots

Remove the soil from the roots and cut off rotten roots and hollow roots. This step depends on the specific situation; if the roots are not rotten, it is not needed.

3. Mix the soil and line the pot

Place two pieces of broken tile at the bottom of the flower pot, then spread a layer of nutrient soil mixed from leaf mold, pine needles, perlite and charcoal residue in a 5:2:2:1 ratio.

4. Fill the roots with soil and put them in the pot

Turn the Clivia roots facing up, fill the gaps between the roots with growing soil, let the roots hold the soil, then place it downward into the pot.

5. Fill in soil and bury fertilizer

Hold the roots with one hand and fill in soil with the other, keeping the Clivia straight. When filling soil, press the soil firmly, and be careful to avoid the roots so as not to break them. Bury solid fertilizer such as roasted sunflower seeds in the soil.

6. Water thoroughly with a large amount of water

After changing the soil, water once with a large amount of water and water thoroughly, for three days in a row.

Jasmine not blooming

Potted jasmine often does not bloom, mainly because the aged branches are not trimmed in time, which prevents the jasmine from sending out new shoots. Therefore, if you want jasmine to bloom, pruning is essential.

1. Remove leaves before pruning

Before pruning the jasmine, remove all the leaves so the jasmine branches can receive sunlight more fully.

2. Cut off old branches and weak branches

Aged branches are not good for the jasmine to grow new branches. If not pruned in time, it will miss the jasmine's growth period, and in the end the leaves will be large and the branches long, with no flowers.

3. New buds sprout after two weeks

After about two weeks, the pruned jasmine will grow new buds. Once the new buds grow into branches, it will be easy for it to bloom.

4. Keep pruning and shaping

After the jasmine grows new branches, keep pruning and shaping to prevent excessive growth. Before flowering, you can apply dipotassium hydrogen phosphate to promote flowering.

Gardenia not blooming

Many flower lovers like to buy a pot of gardenia in spring, hoping to see the gardenia bloom in a few days. Unexpectedly, ten days to half a month pass and it still has not bloomed. If you take it home and do not repot it, do not expect the gardenia to bloom!

1. Soak in water to disinfect

After the gardenia adapts to the home environment, find a deep bucket and fill it with water, put in one aspirin tablet, place the gardenia in with its soil to sterilize and disinfect. Every half an hour, shake the gardenia so the soil can be removed cleanly.

2. Soak in rooting water

Move the gardenia that has been soaked overnight into rooting water and continue soaking.

3. Mix the soil and line the pot

Mix garden soil, coconut coir, vermiculite and perlite into nutrient soil. Break a few pieces of plastic foam and spread them at the bottom of the pot, then cover with nutrient soil.

4. Put the plant into the pot

Move the soaked gardenia into the pot, water thoroughly, and move it to a cool, ventilated place. You can poke a few small holes in a plastic bottle, fill it with water, and place it on the flower pot so it drips slowly.

For bougainvillea, if you want it to bloom and bloom more, pruning is the most critical step.

Pruning before flowering:

1. Cut off weak branches and long branches

Cut off all the branches that have grown too long and the thin, weak branches to promote sprouting.

2. Water thoroughly with a large amount of water

Water the pruned bougainvillea thoroughly with a large amount of water and place it in a cool, ventilated place for care.

Pruning after flowering

1. Cut off the flower stalks

Cut off the spent flower stalks to avoid excessive growth that affects sprouting.

2. Cut off new branches

Cut off 1/3 of the length of the newly grown branches, keeping one strong bud point.
