Newly bought plants must be treated this way first so they can grow better and better

Fellow flower growers surely all share one habit: browsing the flower market! Whenever you see all kinds of flowers and plants, you always have to buy a few pots to take home. But the flowers and plants that look so lively at the flower market start to have drooping leaves, or even drop their leaves, within a few days of being brought home. So what should you do?
1. How to choose and buy plants
After buying a plant, if you do not know what kind of potting soil it should use, it is best to use the original potting soil, and try to buy plants that are in season. Growing southern flowers in the north requires advanced skills, so if you are a beginner, it is best not to try it. For flowering plants, it is best to buy plants that are blooming in the current season.
2. How to care for bare-root plants
If the plant you bring home is a bare-root plant without soil, the first thing to do is soak it in a basin of water for about 3 hours, so the roots can fully absorb water. This ensures the plant will not die from dehydration during the earlier period.
3. Choosing flower pots
Many people do not pay much attention to flower pots, but in fact flower pots are quite important. A pot that is too small or too large is not good; generally, one size about a circle larger than the plant's root ball is enough, and you need to choose a flower pot with drainage holes.
4. Proper pruning
After the flowers are planted, you can prune them properly. For example, for a newly bought rose, you can cut off the upper flowers and branches as appropriate to encourage budding. In addition, newly planted flowers should not be fertilized immediately. Wait 1 to 2 months until the flowers sprout new buds, then fertilize according to the principle of light fertilizer applied frequently.
5. How to care for potted plants
The care method is relatively simple: place them in a relatively fixed spot with scattered light and good ventilation. There is no need to fertilize or let them get sunlight too early. When it is time to water as usual, give them enough water to soak through. Since the plants are still recovering from transplanting, a small amount of yellow fallen leaves or a small amount of dropped flowers and buds is normal. After a period of time, they will return to normal.
6. Repotting
Generally, repotting a plant after bringing it home can be done the same day. This does not affect anything, as long as the care afterward is proper.
