Speaking of the rubber plant (Ficus elastica), it is a potted flower that is very suitable for keeping at home. Many people grow such a plant for good luck. Its leaves are thick and beautiful, giving a sense of grandeur and steadiness. In fact, you do not need to spend money to buy a rubber plant; you can propagate it from a single branch, and this season is the most suitable time.

Rubber plants have a higher survival rate when propagated by cuttings in June and July. Cut off healthy semi-lignified branches, and after cutting them off, trim the leaves by half. Apply plant ash to the cut to prevent too much sap from flowing out, which would affect the survival rate.

For the growing medium, you can use plain sand or vermiculite for propagation, and just keep the potting soil moist. You can cover it with a plastic bag without tying the opening to increase humidity, and place it in a bright spot. It will generally take root in 2-3 weeks, and after roots grow, gradually increase the light.

The weather now gets hotter day by day. If you turn on the air conditioner, it is not quite time yet; if you do not turn it on, you still feel hot. This is really an awkward situation. Rather than struggling with it, you might as well keep a rubber plant at home, and it can also help purify the air.
