Getting tricked by my cousin while looking for orchids, running dozens of li with him, I really kind of deserved it

I was "tricked" by my cousin, who made me run dozens of li with him looking for orchids, and I really kind of deserved it.
My aunt's little son, 10 years old this year, is staying at my home for school because my aunt's family went out to work in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. He is a fairly lively, cheerful and mischievous child. He has a quick mind, and this time I really did get tricked by him. Thinking back on it, it is both funny and infuriating.
Last Thursday, I went into the city to take care of some business. When my little cousin came home from school, he had nothing to do, so he took two of the orchids I grow to play with and pulled the orchids right out. One of the orchid pots had already been smashed, and orchid leaves and stems were scattered all over the ground.
When I got home and saw orchid leaves and stems all over the ground, I was very angry at the sight. So I found a few of the children who play with him and asked them about the situation, asking what had happened. As it turned out, my little cousin pretty much admitted outright to digging up the orchids. He said that in science class that day, the teacher talked about the structure of plants, and in order to investigate, he dug the orchid grass out of the pot to take a look.
Extremely angry, I even had the urge to hit someone. So I asked: Don't you know this is an orchid, different from other grasses? He said, I know this is an orchid, is there anything rare about it? There are lots of them beside our water vat, and they smell very good.
Otherwise, in a couple of days I'll take you to dig them up. After all, there's no use in them just growing there, right? Words like that gradually soothed my anger. Half a month later, the day before Children's Day, his mother mailed him new clothes and new shoes from Zhejiang. So I drove him into the city to pick up the things.
On the way back, when we passed his house, he stopped me and said he would dig up the orchids and take them home to plant. So he took me to his backyard, and beside the water vat used for holding water, he said, the orchids are all here. I looked and was instantly stunned. How was this orchids? This was chicken herb, the kind we use as a seasoning. Even I could not help laughing, and only then did I realize I had been tricked by him. At the same time, I also realized that he does not know orchids, and he was acting out of his own genuine thinking. Although I did not find orchids, I think my little cousin has a fairly quick mind and may do well in school in the future. After all, what child is not a little mischievous? You'd say so too, right?
