Looking back on these years of growing succulents, there have been moments of being moved, of change, of setbacks, but in the end I always persevered, and that alone is rare. On this Children's Day, the chief editor hopes everyone can still hold on to their original intention.

It was 2014, if life can be counted as bitter, that was the time.

Everyone has moments of utter misery, when some things just won't let go, twisting and turning in your heart until it hurts so much that tears stream down and you cry out loud, and still it doesn't feel like enough.

A friend said: "Idle people are just being dramatic. You're just idle."

To avoid idle worries, I started growing succulents. My first love was Huangli, but it perished in just about a month.

After the other two turned out like this, I abandoned them in a corner. When spring came, I pulled out the Yuzhui that I thought was already dead, intending to throw it away, and found it had actually grown new roots.

With immense reverence for succulents, I made a comeback, and the second wave of succulents looked like this.

Even so, this bunny was still very confident. I thought my flowers were beautiful beyond belief, so I joined a QQ group to show off a bit.

The experts welcomed me enthusiastically with one sentence: "Oh! Another loess-party member has arrived."

A stubborn bunny silently went to the flower market and carried back two bags of soil, then set about fussing over everything.

By then it was already the winter of 2015, and the beauty of that time was like the lake surface in early winter, seemingly steady and calm with the ice already formed, but one light tap and it shattered. After winter set in, the succulents one after another began to flatten out and turn to mush, and some even became like this.

Then one day, the QQ group owner suddenly asked why are you so close to me? After some conversation, it turned out his greenhouse was at the Hutuo Ecological Farm, just 1.7km from my home.

At that moment my eyes welled up with tears. I took a few pots of nearly dead succulents to the greenhouse, dropped off the succulents, and hurried off to work.

A few days later the greenhouse owner said he had repotted them with new soil for me. I thought, he looks decent enough, and his heart isn't bad either.

Come on, come on, admire the greenhouse owner's perky butt.

That's right, this decent-looking, perky-butted greenhouse owner is the one Bunny now calls "Song Dada."

At that time the greenhouse was still laid out flat on the ground, and taking advantage of being close to home, I became a regular there, and my succulent army gradually grew stronger.

In the old-style rural house, only Grandpa's bedroom windowsill could let the succulents safely through winter. The old man did not support my growing succulents, so I always secretly planted them in the bedroom at night. Then I would "generously" give them to my sister-in-law to grow at her home, and often go to see them.

I still remember once before a flash sale, the greenhouse owner said: "You won't win any, it's all for nothing, you don't know how crazy they are."

Yet I won almost all the 0-yuan items. In the end, the generous greenhouse owner gave out a bonus: anyone who won a priced item would get a Dongyun hybrid for free.

When I went to pick up the succulents, the greenhouse owner tearfully asked me: "Everything you got was a 0-yuan item, so you don't want the free gift too, right?" I refused and took it under my wing.

The succulent army with nowhere to settle was all boarded at the greenhouse. I looked forward to warmer weather so I could bring them home.

I had never looked forward to spring like this.

Meeting them and them,

Warm sun in my arms, quietly watching the flowers bloom.

That Dongyun hybrid the greenhouse owner tearfully begged me to leave behind, I still ended up taking it home.

I'm the best at 0-yuan flash sales! I'm the strongest at flash deals!

I love this boat pot. The greenhouse owner recommended a 1-yuan pot picked up from a porcelain shop, had a hole drilled in it, and Xiaoyu was won at a 0-yuan flash sale.

The two heroes while drilling the hole

The little babies the Dreamland couple gave to Bunny~ The flower pots were painted by their daughter, and the succulents were planted by their daughter. A loving family~ I'm also envious of their happiness~

Moran.

Like the gentle and light moments, the quiet and serene orchid on the islet.

Come have a glass of absinthe -

Add a little salt to your shadow

Air-dry it, and when old, drink it as wine

Later and later, a shy bunny completely let herself go, and the mask of a pseudo-artsy young woman was taken off.

The real expression beneath the plain false mask turned out to be acceptable and likable. Goofy, silly, a bit dirty. I love photography, dogs, pastries; whether quiet or noisy in lively occasions, it all became natural. And better.

On the windowsill they were kicked down by the cat, in the yard they were chewed up by the dog, so I asked someone to make a flower rack.

On the rooftop they got in the way of walking, so I moved them. Behind the water tank the light was poor, so I moved them. In the yard guests always took them, so I moved them.

In the end they ended up on the second-floor platform.

This is a very peculiar spot. A platform separated by railings, no one can get in.

Every few days, late at night, with no light, holding a 250ML watering can, squeezing it again and again to water the succulents pot by pot.

Later I became wildly obsessed with bottom-watering, carrying them out pot by pot, soaking them, then putting them back. Never tired of it.

Dabai was a cat in her teens, a bit senile, sometimes clinging to me, and sometimes running away as soon as she saw me. I always called her a simpleton. Now she is no longer here.

When winter came, I would still board the succulents at the greenhouse, and the following spring move them all back. In the blink of an eye, two springs and autumns had passed.

Under the radiance of Bunny's peerless beauty and unmatched charm, the succulents grew more and more beautiful.

Only with comparison comes surprise.

My proudest one, the White Bear. When it first came back, its leaves were scattered all over

The Baby Fingers given by Little Radish, whom I dragged into the hobby. You can tell from the name, a little woman who admired and chased after me. Mm, love you.

Angel's Tears. A late-winter outdoor-growing experiment, frostbite plus sunburn. The more you torture them, the more beautiful they get.

Time is like a piece of land, and we walk upon time. It seems nothing has changed, yet everything has changed. I love succulents, and I also love another kind of life, and a better version of myself.

When summer came, the succulents were again moved to the flower rack under the tree. Grandpa, Grandma, my uncle and eldest uncle began to care for these little flowers, and the neighbors also started getting dragged into the hobby by me.

This cat is Dabai's son. Sometimes he quietly guards the flowers, and sometimes he takes his temper out on them.

So, don't be afraid.

Time always flows away, and the four seasons change as they will.

What should come will always come, and what accompanies you has always been there.

He said

Without love you won't die

But with love you come alive

Thankful for meeting
