Gardenias have lush branches and leaves, stay evergreen all year round, and fill the air with fragrance, so many people grow them. If you want your gardenia to grow luxuriantly and bloom abundantly, you need to master the watering techniques for gardenias. Improper watering can easily lead to problems like yellow leaves. Let's take a look below at how to water gardenias!

Watering tips for gardenias:

(1). In spring and summer, water generally in the morning, let the plant get some sunlight, and often mist the leaves in the evening. Be careful not to spray the flowers, then place the plant in a ventilated spot for care.

(2). From April to September, water only when the soil has dried out, and just keep the soil moist. Do not let water accumulate, as this easily causes water-induced yellowing of the plant, leading to yellow leaves.

(3). During July and August, the weather is relatively dry and the temperature is high, so the leaves evaporate water quickly. Depending on the soil medium, you may need to water every day to keep the soil moist.

(4). In winter, water generally at noon, and the water temperature should be suitable. In spring and summer, water in the morning and let the plant bask in the sun after watering.

(5). When watering, you can add a small amount of vinegar to the water to improve the soil and increase its acidity.

(6). You can use fermented rice water to water gardenias, once a month. This can make the gardenia flourish with lush branches and leaves, with verdant, glossy green foliage, and bloom in greater numbers with larger flowers.

(7). After gardenias develop flower buds, reduce watering, as too much moisture causes the buds to drop.
