Agarwood bracelet craftsmanship
Step one: material selection
The rough agarwood material just shipped back from the producing area has a lot of soil and white wood on it. It must be cleaned thoroughly, and then the raw material must be selected. Selecting materials for premium agarwood is a very important step, because aside from the added value of carving, the quality of the raw material is an important standard for judging whether agarwood is good or bad.
Step two: cutting the material
After the raw material is selected, cutting the material and turning the beads officially begins. First cut the large pieces of agarwood raw material into agarwood slices of suitable thickness, and then cut them into regular small pieces.
Step three: drilling
Place the cut agarwood pieces onto a drilling machine to drill holes. The processing steps for agarwood beads and agarwood carvings are somewhat different. For incense products such as carvings, they are processed first and drilled at the end, while agarwood beads are drilled first and then further finely processed.
Step four: grinding
Place the drilled agarwood pieces into a water grinder. First grind out the approximate outline of the beads. Because they will still need fine hand grinding later, pay attention to the size of the beads at this time. Generally, they need to be a bit larger than the final size.
Step five: polishing
After grinding in the water grinder, the beads are wet from contact with water and need to be naturally dried in a cool place before hand polishing. When hand polishing, the pressure cannot be too great, to avoid over-grinding and making the beads smaller. The pressure used for grinding needs to be gradually figured out during the processing.
Step six: threading the cord
After the above steps, a complete agarwood bracelet is made. Finally, thread it with bead cord, and a complete agarwood bracelet is finished.
