Shade-tolerant plants are truly easy to grow; they can survive on lamplight alone
The hot summer has gradually arrived, and many friends who have a habit of growing plants have already started looking for some flowers to cultivate. Due to the weather and because more friends are willing to place plants indoors as potted displays, relatively shade-tolerant plants have become everyone's priority target. Shade-tolerant plants are truly easy to grow; with just lamplight, they can survive! The plants recommended below are all excellent choices.
1. Malabar Chestnut
Malabar Chestnut, also known as "Green Yuanbao," is one of the evergreen plants. It rather likes light, and because its rhizome is fairly well developed, getting it to grow is not too difficult. For a small potted Malabar Chestnut, the tree shape is quite neat, and the branches and leaves will not be chaotic, so pruning it is relatively easy. On the one hand, it carries the fine meaning of bringing in wealth and treasure, which is fatally tempting for friends who believe in feng shui; on the other hand, placing a Malabar Chestnut in a corner of the home or beside the coffee table not only adds to the beauty but also does a good job of purifying the air.
2. Lucky Bamboo
When Lucky Bamboo is mentioned, I believe everyone is familiar with it. Its bamboo stems are slender, its leaves are emerald green, and it grows very elegantly. It likes a semi-shaded environment, and importantly, its growth has no strict requirements for light; just some scattered light is enough for it to grow well. As a plant with excellent ornamental value, it is suitable for placement in the home's living room, symbolizing peace and prosperity. At the same time, thanks to its excellent photosynthesis and adsorption capacity, it can purify the air well in a living room of just a few tens of sq m.
3. Cornstalk Dracaena
Cornstalk Dracaena is one of the plants most often grown indoors in Europe and the Americas. Its plant shape gives people a feeling of being upright and elegant. Because it originally comes from Africa, it also carries the passion of the tropics. Its environmental requirements are relatively low, and it is fairly shade-tolerant. If it is a medium-sized Cornstalk Dracaena, it can usually be used as a plant beside the doors of places such as hotels, business inns, and conference venues. If it is a small Cornstalk Dracaena, it is suitable for placement by the bedroom window or in the study, looking even more unique and elegant.
4. Fishtail Palm
Fishtail Palm, also called Green Palm, is relatively common in South China and is one of the more important landscaping plants. It has strong shade tolerance and fears long periods of direct sunlight, so its light requirements are not high. Its overall appearance is rather peculiar: many of its leaves vary in size, and the leaves have some irregular jagged stripes, extremely similar to a fish tail, hence the name Fishtail Palm. A potted Fishtail Palm is most suitable for placement on a desk or in a cool spot at home. If you use your eyes for a long time, looking at the Fishtail Palm more during rest can effectively relieve eye fatigue.
5. Chinese Fan Palm
The leaves of the Chinese Fan Palm grow in a fan shape, and each leaf seems to have cracks, drooping slightly downward. It is also an evergreen plant. It can often be seen in various landscaping settings, just like a touch of tropical atmosphere. If cultivated at home, it has a good adsorption capacity for cancer-causing molecules in the air, and it is also a little expert at purifying the air.
