An experienced grower shares 3 key points for jasmine care in June to boost fragrance and extend the flowering period

Jasmine has emerald green leaves, pure white flowers, and a rich fragrance, and many plant lovers adore it.
In June, jasmine has already bloomed one after another, and care after flowering is also very important. A grower with 10 years of experience has secret tips for jasmine care. Today Hua'er will introduce 3 points from the experienced grower on jasmine care after flowering. With good care, the flowering period can be extended by 1 month.
1. Watering
Jasmine likes a humid environment. After flowering, water should be controlled appropriately. When the potting soil shows signs of turning white, water it thoroughly. Once a week, water with a diluted fertilizer solution. Never sprinkle water on the flowers, as it easily causes rot and shedding, shortening the flowering time. When the weather is hotter and drier, you can spray more water around it, or place a basin of water nearby to increase humidity.
2. Fertilizing
Jasmine likes fertilizer. During the high-temperature peak flowering period in June, apply a diluted light fertilizer once every 4-5 days. Generally, water in the morning, fertilize in the evening, and water again the next day. This helps the jasmine roots absorb nutrients and prevents root burn.
You can bury some bone meal or phosphate fertilizer in the potting soil, which can make the jasmine's fragrance even richer. Once a week, you can spray a 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution on the leaves, which can promote more flowers and extend the flowering period. When spraying, make sure both the front and back of the leaves are evenly covered, and try not to spray into the flower center.
3. Pruning
Jasmine blooms in June. With proper management, it can bloom in three flushes. Pruning is very important. In the early flowering stage, remove tender branches along with leaves to encourage new branches to grow and make the foliage lush. Also prune irregularly, promptly removing old leaves, withered leaves, and so on.
After the flowers gradually fade, cut them off promptly to avoid excessive nutrient consumption, which would affect the next round of bud formation and flowering. Also, apply additional fertilizer promptly to promote growth and the second formation of flower buds.
