Goldfish Undergoes Surgery to Remove Egg-Sized Tumor from Its Body

Nemo, a 5-year-old goldfish, underwent a 45-minute manual surgery while out of the water. Doctors successfully removed a huge tumor that had grown on the goldfish's head and neck.

The surgery cost about nearly 2,000 yuan. During the procedure, Nemo's heart stopped beating at one point. The photo shows the removed tumor.

The doctor in charge of the surgery said that keeping the goldfish alive and asleep during the operation was very difficult.

Before the surgery, Nemo's tumor had already grown about as large as its body.

Two hours after the surgery ended, Nemo was returned to its owner.

Now, Nemo's body has returned to normal.
