Seed propagation: First collect Monstera deliciosa seeds, then sow them in dots on the soil, roughly one seed every 2 to 3 cm. They sprout after one month. Cutting propagation: First select a side branch, keep only the small leaves on top, insert it into the soil, and after that, it will root in about 30 days. Division propagation: Remove an entire section of a side branch from the plant, then simply plant it in a pot.

1. Seed propagation

This method first requires collecting seeds. The plant usually sets seeds after flowering in summer. Before the seeds mature, pay attention to strengthening care to ensure the seeds are healthy and well developed. Once the seeds are mature, they can be collected. Select healthy seeds and soak them in water at a suitable temperature for about 10 hours; a water temperature of 40°C is most suitable.

Disinfect the soil in advance, either with a disinfectant solution or by placing it directly in the sun to bake. Then sow the seeds in dots on the soil, about one seed every 2 to 3 cm.

After sowing, keep the temperature around the pot within the range of 20 to 25°C. You can lay a layer of plastic film over it to keep the soil moist. The seeds will sprout in less than a month, and once they grow leaves, they can be planted separately in different pots.

2. Cutting propagation

This method is generally used for propagation in spring or autumn.

First select a side branch; generally choose a robust one from the current year's growth as the cutting, preferably 20 to 25 cm long. Remove the leaves at the base of the branch and keep only the small leaves on top. For the soil, it is best to mix leaf mold, peat, or coarse sand together. After inserting the cutting into the soil, be sure to provide it with a suitable environment; for example, the temperature is best kept within the range of 25 to 27°C, and the humidity is best kept relatively high. It will root in about 30 days.

3. Division propagation

This method is usually carried out in summer or autumn. Its chance of survival is relatively high, and it is also very easy to do. You can do this when repotting: directly remove an entire section of a side branch from a healthy, well-grown, large plant, making sure to include some aerial roots, and then plant this section directly in a pot.
