What are the cultivation methods and precautions for banana plants?
1. Soil
Banana plants (Musa basjoo) are suited to growing in fertile, well-drained soil.
2. Watering
During cultivation, water it frequently to keep the soil moist, but do not water too much or too often, so as to avoid root rot. If the weather is relatively dry, increase the amount of watering, or frequently spray water around it to increase the humidity in the air.
3. Light
Banana plants (Musa basjoo) like sunlight, so you can grow it on a balcony; only by receiving enough light can it grow better. It can tolerate partial shade, but if it is kept in too dark an environment for a long time, it will grow poorly. If grown indoors, move it outdoors frequently to receive light.
4. Fertilizing
Apply well-rotted base fertilizer when planting. To help it grow better, also apply fertilizer once a month; applying 1-2 applications of already rotted organic fertilizer can increase the yield of the banana plant. When fertilizing, apply thin fertilizer.
5. Precautions
1. Winter care: Banana plants (Musa basjoo) are generally grown in front of windows or in courtyards, so the temperature must be well controlled in winter. It is not cold-tolerant; it can tolerate a low temperature of 0°C, but it is best to keep the temperature above 4°C so that it can overwinter more safely.
2. Timely pruning: During its growth period, cut off yellow leaves in good time, so as to avoid increasing nutrient consumption and to prevent it from greatly affecting the appearance.
