Bougainvillea, kalanchoe and Christmas cactus are very popular flowering potted plants right now. Their flowers are delicate and lovely, colorful and very eye-catching, and they are much loved by people. Used to decorate and accent the home, they all produce a great effect.

Many friends who like bougainvillea, kalanchoe and Christmas cactus, have you also run into this problem? They bloom little, or even do not bloom at all. You bought them just to enjoy the flowers, and if they do not bloom there is no need to have bought them, so this problem must be solved!

Bougainvillea, kalanchoe and Christmas cactus have one thing in common: although they all like light, they are all short-day plants. Too much weak light easily causes the branches and leaves to grow leggy, absorbing too many nutrients, which leads to no buds forming and no flowering. Just make sure they get 6 to 8 hours of light each day.

So once they bloom little or not at all, you can put a black hat on them, and then they will burst into bloom, and you will not be able to stop them.

The specific method

During the day, just leave them in the light for 6 to 8 hours as usual. From 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next morning, cover them with a black plastic bag. To prevent light from getting through, you can put on 3 to 4 black plastic bags and poke some small holes for breathing. At 8 a.m., take the bag off. Repeat this continuously for about a month, and you will find flower buds gradually growing. After that, just care for them normally.

Of course, if you do not use a black plastic bag, you can also use a large cardboard box and put the whole potted plant inside it, leaving holes in the cardboard box. Repeat for a month and it will have the same effect. Or you can shut it in a small dark room and let it see no light at all between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., which also works.

The method is very simple and fairly practical. If you have also had this situation, you might as well give it a try.

At the same time, you are welcome to leave a comment and share more practical flower-growing experience!
