Are hyacinths beautiful? Of course they are! Almost anyone who has seen them would say so. Hyacinths are truly beautiful, with column-shaped flower clusters stacked upward, blooming freely and generously! Red, white, pink, yellow, purple, colorful and passionately vibrant!

How do you grow beautiful hyacinths? Let's take a look.

Water culture hyacinths

Choose a wide-mouthed glass or plastic bottle, or you can buy a specially made gourd-shaped bottle. Add clean water, put the hyacinth in, but do not put the whole bulb into the water. Put in only half of it, then place it in a dark place and wait for it to take root. If you want it to root faster, you can wrap a dark cloth around the bottle to encourage rooting.

The tap water you add is best left to sit in the sun for a few days before use, to remove the chlorine in the water. Change the water once a week until it roots. You can also add a little nutrient solution to the water, which helps with nutrient absorption.

After it roots, wait until the roots grow a bit bigger, then place it somewhere with indirect light. This way it grows fast. Pay attention to the amount of water in the bottle. Add more when it runs low. You do not need to change it so frequently, unless you see that the water quality has gone bad. Be careful when changing the water, and do not damage its roots.

You will then see the process of it rooting, sprouting, forming buds, and blooming. Every change will bring you a small surprise.

After a hyacinth has bloomed, it is a pity to throw it away. You can cut off the remaining stem, treat it a little, and plant it in soil. If cared for well, it can survive and can still bloom.

Its bulb is toxic. If there are small children at home, be cautious about growing it, and absolutely do not let them eat it by mistake.

Soil culture hyacinths

You can mix garden soil, leaf mold, and river sand. This kind of soil is loose and breathable, with good drainage.

Bury the hyacinth in the soil, leaving only a little tip exposed, then place it in a cool place and keep the soil slightly moist, or water a little when the potting soil is dry. At this time, the potting soil must not stay wet for a long time. Pay attention to ventilation.

Before planting in soil, it is best to soak it in a carbendazim solution. This way it is less likely to rot roots.

When autumn comes and obvious growth appears, move it to a place with indirect light and let it get some sun, so it grows fast. Rooting takes about 20 days or so. There is no need to rush, and even more, do not pull it out to take a look. This kind of disturbance makes it grow even slower.

During the growing period, just keep the potting soil alternating between dry and wet. It must not have standing water. When watering, it is best not to pour water into the center of the flowers. You can apply a little phosphorus and potassium fertilizer each month, or your own fermented cake fertilizer water. Apply light fertilizer frequently to avoid burning the roots.

Soil culture is a bit more troublesome. You can choose water culture hyacinths, with white roots clustered around the flower clusters, very beautiful.
