Two months ago, at a college reunion, I went back to my alma mater. Since it's a university of traditional Chinese medicine, there are many ginkgo trees on campus. It happened that the gardener uncle was pruning, so I casually took a few branches.

After going home, I stuck them in soil, and unexpectedly, 2 months passed, and they look better than store-bought potted plants, and they're also very easy to care for! Now let me share the method with everyone!

The specific method

Cut healthy ginkgo branches into about 20 cm sections, keeping 2 to 3 leaves, with a flat cut at the top and a diagonal cut at the bottom. To improve rooting time and rooting rate, soak them in rooting solution for 10 to 20 minutes in advance. After fully drying, insert them into a sand bed, preferably using river sand, for a very high rooting rate!

After completing the grafting, water thoroughly once, and you can cover with a layer of plastic film to increase temperature and humidity, which can greatly reduce rooting time, and keep the soil moist during this period. After about one month, they will root, and after rooting, they can be transplanted into pots.

For the potting soil, also choose loose, fertile, well-draining sandy soil. In addition, you can add a small amount of organic base fertilizer to the potting soil to make the soil full of nutrients.

To promote growth, after transplanting and resuming growth, you can bury a few granules of slow-release compound fertilizer in the soil, or give a few granules of urea, which can make the root system stronger, the branches and leaves more luxuriant, and the ornamental value stronger!

The leaves of the ginkgo tree are emerald green and evergreen, very distinctive. Small potted plants are also very good for decorating furniture, but if you want it to bloom and bear fruit, the time is a bit long, about 20 years! So for indoor potted plants, just looking at the green leaves is already beautiful!
