Grow a few potted fruit trees at home, give them simple care, and they will produce beautiful, delicious fruit. Pick and eat whenever you like - it really is so relaxing and convenient. These six nutritious and delicious fruits are perfect for growing in flower pots on the balcony. They need no special care and will still be laden with fruit!

Orange tree

Grow an orange tree at home, and in autumn and winter the tree is hung with golden-orange oranges, looking auspicious and festive. Oranges can also be grown in colder places; choose a larger flower pot, about 30 cm in diameter.

Put plenty of base fertilizer in the pot; you can use leaf mold from the mountains to grow it, and fertilize often with decomposed soybean cake fertilizer, fish intestine fertilizer, and so on. The fruit will be abundant and large.

Cherry

Cherries are a fruit everyone loves, but cherries in the fruit supermarket are just too expensive, so you might as well grow one yourself - the fruit is truly a delight to the eye. Cherry trees suit a sunny, fertile, moist environment.

For growing cherries, it is best to choose wooden barrels and fired clay pots. Use sand, turf soil, and animal manure. Mix these together for planting, and the tree will bear more fruit.

Lemon

Lemon is a fruit often used in daily life, whether for lemonade or other things, and in fact lemons are as easy to grow as oranges. Prune the branches promptly in spring, which is better for fruit setting, and repot every two years with plenty of base fertilizer.

When watering normally, do not let it vary between too much and too little. When the lemon is flowering, if the temperature exceeds 30°C, shade measures should be taken, so as not to affect flowering and fruit setting.

Fig

The fig root system grows very fast and is especially well developed, so it needs a larger flower pot to grow in. Both open terraces and balconies are suitable for keeping figs.

Prepare breathable, fertile soil, then add some decomposed chicken manure and other organic fertilizers. It can be grown from branch cuttings.

In the rainy season, prevent water from accumulating in the pot soil, as this easily causes fruit drop. Normally place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight and good ventilation. In this way the fig can grow lush branches and leaves and bear much fruit.

Pomegranate

The best soil for growing pomegranates is garden soil mixed with leaf mold and sandy soil. Potted pomegranates will not grow especially tall. Clay pots and porcelain pots can both be used, but they need drainage holes.

The pomegranate tree likes plenty of sunlight, so do not worry about scorching sun, as long as the pot soil stays moist. Fermented milk, rice-washing water, and vegetable-washing water can all be used to water pomegranates, keeping the fertilizer and water sufficient.

Strawberry

Strawberries can be planted all year round, but it is best to choose leaf mold rich in humus to grow them, and you can plant some excellent strawberry seedlings that flower and fruit multiple times a year. When planting, bring along a little more soil, cover the roots well, and do not bury the leaves in the middle. After planting, water thoroughly. First place in a cool, ventilated spot, and after four or five days give them sunlight.

When flowering, you can use soybean cake, fish and shrimp, kitchen scraps, and so on, fermented and decomposed into organic fertilizer water, fertilizing once a week. The strawberries will be large and abundant.
