Schefflera, also known as umbrella tree, has lush jade-green leaves that stay evergreen all year round, rounded and full of gloss, and it can also purify the air, absorbing formaldehyde and nicotine; it is low-maintenance and tolerant of rough treatment, the first choice for indoor potted plants!

To care for Schefflera, choose a loose, breathable, well-draining sandy soil; you can make it up with garden soil plus leaf mould plus coarse sand, and add a small amount of organic base fertilizer; the base fertilizer can be rapeseed cake fertilizer

It can be placed in a sunny, well-ventilated spot, which makes it easy for it to carry out photosynthesis, promotes the formation of chlorophyll, and prevents yellowing leaves.

Schefflera is fairly drought-tolerant, so watering should not be too frequent, but each time you must water it thoroughly; it is best if water seeps from the tray; in summer, when the weather is hot, you can spray water on the leaves to prevent the leaves from losing water too quickly and turning yellow and wilting.

To make its leaves even glossier, you can spray the leaf surface with diluted beer; this not only cleans the leaf surface but also makes the leaves brighter and more glossy; do this once every ten days.

During the growing period, you can bury a few granules of slow-release compound fertilizer in the soil to promote the growth of branches, leaves and roots, and each time you water, the nutrients will slowly seep out.

Schefflera is prone to yellow leaves, but do not worry; cut off the yellowed Schefflera leaves, apply beeswax to the cut, and place it in a cool, ventilated spot; in about a month leaves will grow, and the newly grown leaves will be lush and jade-green again.

To prevent Schefflera leaves from turning yellow, you can also spray ferrous sulfate solution to supplement iron ions, change the soil pH, and increase chlorophyll synthesis, which can reduce the chance of yellow leaves!

Schefflera not only beautifies the home but also purifies the air, a really great potted plant!
