Don't leave your home's iron fence and walls bare; planting climbing plants on them is just gorgeous.

Is the balcony railing at home or the wall of your small courtyard still empty? Don't waste the space. Grow some climbing plants and they will be so beautiful they make you scream. Hurry up and take a look!
1. Trifoliate orange
Trifoliate orange, properly called Zhi, is a tree species unique to China. It is a deciduous shrub or small tree and one of the preferred plants for garden hedges or barriers. It blooms in spring, and by autumn it is laden with fruit. Its branches carry many thorns, so it is also a good choice for defending a home courtyard.
Growing conditions:It prefers a warm, humid climate. Trifoliate orange has strong disease resistance, is cold-tolerant, likes slightly acidic soil, cannot tolerate alkaline soil, and has strong branching ability.
2. Rose
Thorny rose vines climbing among iron railings can form a green "ecological wall" and also have many advantages such as being attractive, theft-proof, and easy to manage.
Growing conditions:Roses like sunlight and also tolerate partial shade. They are fairly cold-tolerant, not demanding about soil, drought-tolerant, and tolerant of poor soil, but they grow better when planted in deep, loose, fertile, moist soil with good drainage.
3. Climbing rose
Climbing roses have another name: "wall beautician." They are more upscale and imposing than roses, with many varieties to choose from. They are better suited as ornamental wall plants and are not suitable for theft prevention and the like.
Growing conditions:They are highly adaptable, cold-tolerant, and drought-tolerant, and are not strict about soil, but the best is slightly acidic sandy loam rich in organic matter with good drainage.
4. Boston ivy
Boston ivy counts as an old-school wall-climbing plant and is very popular. It is most suitable for climbing walls, and it often grows into a whole wall of foliage at once. It can also climb iron railings, but the effect is not as good as on a wall.
Growing conditions:Boston ivy is highly adaptable. It likes shady, humid environments but is not afraid of strong light, is cold-tolerant, drought-tolerant, and tolerant of poor soil. It adapts to a wide range of climates, tolerates pruning, fears waterlogging, and is not strict about soil. It can grow vigorously in both shady, humid environments and sunny spots.
5. Chinese trumpet creeper
Chinese trumpet creeper shows no effect at all when not in bloom, but if it climbs a wall and reaches a certain scale, it looks quite spectacular when flowering. One thing, though: Chinese trumpet creeper tends to attract small black flies, so some pest-control measures should be taken during cultivation.
Growing conditions:It likes light and warmth, and seedlings have poor cold tolerance. If light is insufficient, it can still grow, but the branches become thin and long. It requires fertile, deep, well-drained sandy soil.
In fact, besides the five plants above, there are many other climbing plants to choose from, but there are too many, so I won't go into detail one by one. As long as you want to plant them, you can give them all a try.
