Green homes have been highly praised in recent years; green plants such as pothos, aloe, spider plant and money tree can be found in almost every household. Following conventional potted green plants, home-grown potted fruits and vegetables have also become very common. Today we will share how to grow pomegranates at home.

If you want to enjoy flowers in summer and fruit in autumn, you need to grow the pomegranate so that its flowers are beautiful and its fruit is sweet. How is this done?

1. Light

Light is an essential factor for the growth of all plants, and it is also the key factor affecting flower bud formation in pomegranates. Early summer in particular is the pomegranate's growing season; only with sufficient sunlight will it bloom more, while insufficient sunlight will only cause leggy growth.

2. Water and fertilizer

During the growing season, the pomegranate must be given enough water and fertilizer; only with sufficient water and fertilizer can it bloom more and have a longer flowering period. During the flowering period, you can use a flowering-promoting nutrient solution, and during the fruiting period you can use a fruit and vegetable nutrient solution. Using different nutrient solutions at different stages is the way to achieve beautiful flowers and sweet fruit.

Pomegranates like moisture but are prone to waterlogging. If growers do not know how to judge how dry or moist the soil is, a plant and flower tester can help. Insert the tester into the pomegranate's potting soil and adjust the amount of water and fertilizer according to the displayed data. Scientific plant care can make the pomegranate grow better!

After the beginning of autumn comes the pomegranate's fruiting period. At this stage, nutrition must also be sufficient; you must not let the earlier flowering consume too many nutrients and cause small fruit. So at this stage, choose a fruit and vegetable nutrient solution to supplement nutrition and make the fruit larger and sweeter.

3. Pruning

Fast-growing pomegranates need attention to pruning during routine care. In summer, after flowering and before the pomegranate enters its fruiting period, pruning should also be carried out once. Pinch back the leggy branches so that nutrients are concentrated in the main branches and main trunk, so that the pomegranate can produce large fruit.
