I want a little countryside courtyard like this, to live out my days in ease

A small courtyard with red walls, nestled by the hills and water,
sleeves full of flower fragrance, a garden full of green vegetables.
I just want a little courtyard, to live out my days in ease.
Keep a pond of clear water, let the goldfish play and the lotus bloom fragrant.
Plant a courtyard of vegetables and fruit, fertilize and weed, and in autumn the fruit hangs from the treetops.
Keep a cat, raise a flock of chickens and ducks,
Dig a well, keep watch over a corner of the courtyard.
At sunrise, take a walk, look at the fields, feel the morning breeze,
At sunset, sit quietly, and with the candlelight make three shadows.
On a stormy night, read a book, drink some tea.
On a fine day, tend some flowers, walk the dog.
In spring there are a hundred flowers, in autumn a bright moon,
In summer a cool breeze, in winter white snow.
Green vines climb all over the fence wall, the little courtyard reflects the bright moonlight.
Only smell the flowers, speak not of sorrow or joy.
Let the sunshine be a little warmer, the days a little slower,
and time seems to lose its boundaries.
Let the leaves turn yellow and green again, the flowers bloom and fade,
year after year, forgetting the years, never forgetting the original heart.
Old friends drop by to chat,
talk of the past, and of the future too.
Speak of those years, and of today as well.
A jade bowl holds amber light, and riding the mood of wine, we get drunk and sing,
and before we know it, we forget what night this is.
Life is short, why make things hard on yourself.
However you want to live, life will generously give back.
Far from the noise of the world, return to a plain and simple life.
Amid the world's three thousand splendors, I only want to quietly guard my own little corner of the world.
It turns out,
only by settling the heart into calm can you find your truest self.
Life is full of hardships; to wander freely here, with no regrets in this life.
Just imagine, when you grow old
what kind of days would you most want to live?
