The money tree (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is fairly drought-tolerant, but if you want it to grow lushly and thrive, watering is key. Mastering the watering techniques for the money tree will let it grow dense branches and leaves with thick foliage!

Watering techniques for the money tree:

(1). When watering the money tree, you must not let the potting soil become too wet. Water appropriately based on how dry the potting soil you made is and on the living environment. Check the money tree's leaves: if they have wilted, that is when you need to water, so the plant can return to normal. Water roughly once every 5-7 days.

(2). Summer and autumn are the peak growing seasons for the money tree, so the plant's demand for water increases. You need to water a bit more, and frequently spray water around it to raise the surrounding humidity, which helps the plant grow better and makes the branches and leaves more lush and green.

(3). When the temperature is above 30°C, you need to spray the plant once a day and water twice a week, keeping the potting soil slightly moist, leaning toward dry.

(4). After Mid-Autumn, you should reduce watering and can simply spray water instead, so the newly sprouted tender leaves can make it through winter safely.

(5). Winter is the dormant period for the money tree. Reducing watering or not watering at all can prevent damage from low temperatures, and combined with waterlogging it can easily cause root rot.

(6). The money tree prefers a high-humidity growing environment, so during its growing season, besides normal watering, we should also frequently spray some water around it to raise the humidity of the surrounding air. This way, the money tree will grow relatively well.
