?Lucky bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana) is a green plant loved by many gardening enthusiasts. Its stems and leaves are slender, with the elegant charm of bamboo, a soft and graceful posture, and it carries the meaning of "blossoms bring wealth and honor, bamboo brings peace."

Lucky bamboo is mostly grown in water. Some gardening enthusiasts report that the lucky bamboo they grow is not short of fertilizer and gets enough light, yet it still grows sparse and thin, with yellow leaves as well. Today Hua'er will introduce some tips for caring for lucky bamboo, so your lucky bamboo will have thick stems and green leaves, no root rot, and grow into a full pot.

For lucky bamboo grown in water, water is very important. After the lucky bamboo has rooted, the water basically does not need to be changed. Whenever you see the water level drop, just add new water. The best water to use is rainwater or river water. In cities, rainwater is mostly used, and you can collect more each time it rains to keep for later.

If you need to use tap water, you can first let it sit for two or three days to let the chlorine and other substances in the water evaporate, and then add it to the hydroponic bottle.

About every half month, drip one or two drops of edible vinegar into the hydroponic bottle and shake gently to mix, which helps the roots absorb nutrients, makes the plant more robust, and can also effectively prevent root rot and yellow leaves.

Lucky bamboo needs a relatively large amount of iron. If it lacks iron, the lucky bamboo will develop iron-deficiency yellow leaves. Since water usually contains little iron, you should put a rusty iron nail or piece of iron into the hydroponic bottle to provide the lucky bamboo with enough iron, so the leaves will be emerald green and glossy. Each month you can also spray a little nutrient solution on the leaves, which can make it grow more vigorously.

Lucky bamboo also needs to be pruned from time to time. Timely prune away some old leaves and damaged leaves near the roots, leaving about 10 leaves on each stem, to reduce excessive dispersion of nutrients and avoid yellow leaves and sparse stems caused by insufficient nutrients.

That is all for the care of lucky bamboo. If you have anything else to add, you can share it with everyone in the comments section below. If you want to learn more about growing flowers, you can follow Huajianke!
