The pure white gardenia, with its delicate fragrance, is a common household flower. Some friends run into the situation where a gardenia's roots rot and it is about to die. Below, I'll teach you how to deal with gardenia root rot, so it recovers quickly and flower buds soon come popping out!

What should you do when a gardenia's roots rot?

(1). Once root rot is discovered, first take the plant out of its pot and use sterilized scissors to clean away the soil and the rotted root parts;

(2). Soak the roots in a carbendazim solution to disinfect and sterilize them; soaking for about 1 hour is enough;

(3). After soaking, place it in a cool, shaded spot for 1 day to dry and heal the wounds; simply letting it dry naturally is fine.

(4). Mix up new soil; you can use 2 parts leaf mold, 2 parts sandy loam plus 1 part river sand.

(5). Spread a layer of expanded clay pebbles on the bottom of the flower pot to increase air permeability, fill in the nutrient soil, transplant the plant into the pot, top up the soil, and then water thoroughly.

(6). Keep it in a spot with bright, indirect light; it must not be exposed to direct sun. Wait until the plant has settled in, then just care for it normally.
