It is jasmine blooming season right now, and many friends like to grow a pot at home. So how should you care for a potted jasmine plant? Today we will briefly talk about it

1. Soil: jasmine likes loose, breathable, slightly acidic soil. Only when the soil is loose and breathable can the roots spread out and grow vigorously. For the soil mix, you can use leaf mold, large-particle river sand, and garden soil blended together, or you can use peat soil, perlite, vermiculite, and pine needles in a 4:1:1:1 ratio. Soil like this is loose, breathable, and fertile, and the jasmine will grow very well

2. Watering: jasmine likes a warm, humid environment, so during the growing season watering must be sufficient. As long as the soil is loose and breathable, even if we water often, root rot is not likely, and this is the importance of soil breathability

3. Light: jasmine loves light very much, and there is a saying that jasmine cannot be killed by sun. Even in summer, placed outdoors, as long as watering is sufficient, it will not die from sun exposure. The more sun it gets, the more flowers it blooms

4. Fertilizing: as long as jasmine is well cared for, it can bloom every month. So during the growing period, it needs both to grow branches and leaves and to bloom. Therefore, when we fertilize normally, we should use a multi-element fertilizer, use phosphorus and potassium fertilizer during the bud stage, promptly prune off spent flowers and branches after blooming, and then apply a multi-element fertilizer to replenish the nutrients consumed by flowering

5. Pruning: jasmine blooms on new branches. Branches that have already bloomed generally will not bloom again or will bloom very little, so we need to promptly prune off spent flowers and branches. When pruning, keep two nodes on the branch and cut off all the rest. You must prune ruthlessly to make it sprout more side branches

The side branches will all bloom, and after the side branches finish blooming, they also need to be pruned this way. Through continuous pruning like this, you can achieve the goal of more flowers. If you are reluctant to prune, it will bloom very little or simply not bloom at all
