Recently, I have to say that our Chinese animation is getting stronger and stronger. First there was Shao Lan, comparable to Naruto, followed closely by Tales of Demons and Gods, Battle Through the Heavens, Soul Land, and Wan Jie Xian Zong, filling people's eyes again and again.

Among these three Chinese animations, Tales of Demons and Gods, Battle Through the Heavens, and Soul Land, two are adapted from online novels. For someone like me born in the 1980s, this is both a blessing and a torment. The blessing is that we finally get to see the characters we imagined, and the torment is wondering why this is not the goddess in my heart. Tales of Demons and Gods, however, is adapted from a comic, lacking that kind of wonderful phenomenon. Today let us first talk about this Tales of Demons and Gods, adapted from a comic.

The first season of Tales of Demons and Gods is indeed especially captivating. Nie Li returns through time and space to his school days, as if replaying everything with a walkthrough, knowing which are traps and which are easter eggs. In Tales of Demons and Gods, what attracts this editor most is not the flashy fight scenes, not the pretty beauties, but Nie Li's deep love for Zi Yun. Yet this love is not so fiery and passionate; instead, it is a faint warmth. Perhaps this is just like the pure love of one's school days.

Perhaps because of the slow updates, the characters in the animation are relatively simple, and only four beauties appear: Zi Yun, Xiao Ning'er, Director Yang, and Huyan Lanruo. I think the latter two are just there to catch the eye, with no plot introduction, appearing only once or twice when needed.

My feeling about Zi Yun is like that of a little sister next door. She seems somewhat timid, gentle, and guileless, and she especially values her friends. Perhaps this is related to her background: she lost her mother's care from childhood and has such a stern father, so she is always hesitant and obedient in everything she does. Fortunately, there is someone who loves her so much, who can make her laugh and give her something to rely on.

Xiao Ning'er gives me the feeling of being somewhat pitiable. For the sake of her family's interests, she has to marry someone she does not love, and her family's interests are even betrayed by her own relatives. Fortunately, the cultivation technique given by Nie Li greatly increased her strength, and only then could she begin to fight for her own happiness.

After spending time with Nie Li, she gradually developed feelings of admiration for him, but after learning of Nie Li's love for Zi Yun, she chose to silently protect and accompany him. Of course, if the plot develops according to the novel and comic, sooner or later she will end up with Nie Li.

The second season of Tales of Demons and Gods has also stopped updating. If you want to watch more, you need to wait for the third season. But then again, although the second season continues the plot of the first season, why does it just feel less exciting than the first season? I do not know whether everyone feels the same.
