First, let me introduce myself. I believe many flower enthusiasts know me. I am a petunia sowing killer.

With petunias, sowing just never works... this is incredibly painful, but when it comes to cuttings, petunias are no joke, it is simply like those Indian guys with cheat codes. Any random cutting can survive, and there is nowhere left to plant them, so some had to be pulled out. Flower friends can share my petunia seedlings in the future!

Here is the secret, take a look:

1. The cutting tool (very important, because I have tried other flower pots, and none are as good as this one): use one of those transparent small plastic bowls for packaging soup ingredients (there are pictures below).

2. Poke a few holes in the bottom with scissors for drainage.

3. Fill it with sand. It must be river sand, the kind used for construction. You can mix in a little garden soil or any other soil; that part is not fussy. The key is the river sand.

4. Then, take the small piece you pinched off when pinching the top of the petunia and stick it directly into the sand. Place it in a cool, ventilated spot where the sun cannot shine directly.

5. Spray water into the pot every morning and evening to keep it moist. The level of moisture is when you press your hand on the sand, a few grains stick to your hand. It is fine if you water too much, because it will drain out from the bottom.

6. Then you do not need to worry about it. After one week, if the seedling is still green, it has already rooted. Just pull it out and plant it in a pot.

This is that kind of small plastic bowl. This time I took cuttings of double-flowered petunias.

This one was also grown from cuttings. The flowering effect is just as good.

Grown from cuttings.

This one too.

Everyone can learn from this, and then you will not need to buy seedlings anymore. As long as you have a seedling, you can take cuttings however you like, and later you will be like me, worrying about where to plant them....
