Friends who love growing flowers and plants often share some methods for making nutrient soil. Today I will introduce 2 homemade methods for nutrient soil. With sufficient nutrients, no need to repot for several years.

Leaf mold soil

The advantages of leaf mold soil are that it is loose and permeable, has good air permeability, and has strong water and fertilizer retention capacity. The fertility lasts for a long time, is easily absorbed, and does not compact.

Homemade method:

(1). Collect fallen leaves, soak the leaves in hot water to sterilize and disinfect them;

(2). After soaking the leaves well, crush the leaves to make it easier to mix with the soil and speed up decomposition;

(3). Prepare garden soil, and place the crushed leaves flat into it. One layer of garden soil, one layer of leaves, water once, and appropriately add some pomelo peel to remove odor. In this order, put 4 layers, and finally put a layer of dry garden soil;

(4). Cover the soil with a dark plastic bag, leaving one hole for ventilation. Place it in a place with sufficient light and high temperature, and 2~3 months will be enough. This process is fermentation.

Humus soil

Humus soil is loose and permeable, and its fertility lasts relatively long. Mixed with soil, it improves the soil and increases soil fertility.

Homemade method:

(1). Prepare garden soil, crush it and spread it at 1/5 depth at the bottom of the pot, and add an appropriate amount of acidic or alkaline fertilizer powder to make the soil acidic or alkaline;

(2). Prepare straw and burn it into plant ash, then crush it and spread it on the base fertilizer. Soak part of it in water, spread crushed cooked soybeans, and spread a layer of soil;

(3). Use the soaked plant ash water to water the soil thoroughly, then place it in a cool place and spray water frequently to keep it moist;

(4). After about 1~2 weeks, the fertilizer is basically decomposed, then air-dry it until it no longer feels sticky, then water it again. After the soil dries, stir it 1 more time, and the humus soil is ready.
