I know that all time will grow old, whether we want it to or not, just as the cold winter will pass and the warm spring will also pass; just as beautiful memories will slowly fade and terrible memories will gradually blur.

There are always people who say this: when we are old, I will take you to live in seclusion in the mountains and forests, watching the mountains and the water every day, with a cup of clear tea. Hearing it for the first time, one cannot help but be moved, because vows of eternal love are not touching; what is truly touching and romantic is growing old together, so these words always sound warm.

But if you ponder them carefully, how much sorrow is there in them? Once we grow old, how many years will remain? In those years, who knows what will happen? I dare not promise that when we grow old, I will still be by your side; I cannot be certain that when we grow old, I can still have a cup of clear tea every day. There is too much uncertainty, so this is a beautiful promise and also a bold adventure. It is not that I am unwilling to believe your promise, nor that I dare not take the adventure, but that I fear the one-in-ten-thousand chance, which would be a lifelong regret!

We cannot hold on to time, and time cannot hold on to all that will eventually pass away,

just as when spring comes, the snow of winter will surely melt;

just as when autumn comes, the leaves will eventually fall.

So why wait until the day we grow old? Right now, in this very moment, today while we are still young and beautiful and everything is possible, find some time, whether in the fields and mountains or under the trees in a park, and let us go: bring our tea, I will brew it for you, you will pour it for me, and just sit facing each other and drink. Would that be good?

I know that every cup of tea will also gradually grow cold: because no one can stay in another's life forever, no one can accompany another through an entire lifetime, and people's parting dooms the tea to its final desolation.

There are also always people who say this: when my work is no longer busy, I will take you to travel and see places, and I will sit down and properly talk and drink tea. Yes, work is too busy and there really is no time; I should understand you and be considerate of you.

But please tell me: when will you be able to stop being busy? After you have a house and a car? By then, will you not again be busy for the money for your child's formula, for school, for all kinds of training classes? If so, when will you be able to stop and fulfill your beautiful promise?

Because there are always some people who choose to wait for a long time, and there are always some people who have not learned to cherish, so the warmth of tea is doomed to no longer exist.
