Henna is the garden balsam. Its flowers are especially beautiful, in deep red, purple, light pink and white, layered in abundance, elegant and lovely.

How do you get a good color when dyeing nails with henna? Let's take a look:

Henna is not only for admiring, it can also be used to dye nails. An absolutely non-toxic, harmless product, and the nail color it produces never fades, until the new nail grows out and is gradually trimmed away.

When I was little, a patch of it grew outside our gate every year, with no care needed; the colorful flowers would bloom on their own when the time came. We would pick the flowers, and three or five of us friends would help each other dye our nails. No need to worry about picking them all, the next day it would bloom into a patch again. This was the most anticipated thing every summer.

To dye your nails, the first thing to do is crush the picked henna flowers. Back then we would turn a teacup upside down and use a chopstick to crush them on the bottom of the cup.

During this, you need to add a little something: alum. Alum is a medicinal material; when I was little, my family would put this into the oil when frying dough sticks, so it was easy to get. Add a little alum and crush it together; the henna mixture you make colors the nails easily and comes out glossy too, pretty amazing, right? If you really have no alum at home, you can use salt instead; adding just a tiny bit of salt works too, though the effect will be a little worse.

When dyeing your nails, first gently scrape the surface of the nail with a small knife; this way it takes the color more easily when dyeing. This is a little trick, you know.

Put the crushed henna on the nail, wrap it well with a castor bean leaf, and you're done. If you don't have castor bean leaves, you can also wrap it with any larger leaf you can find; that works too. If you really have no leaves, wrap it with a plastic bag from home; that will do in a pinch.

The dyed nails come out vermilion red. If you want a deeper color, just dye them several times in a row. It's purely green, after all, with no harm at all; especially for children at home, you can dye with peace of mind, and it can even treat fungal nail infection, pretty amazing, right? Dye it several times and it turns deep red.

Come and plant a few henna plants together; pretty and practical, killing two birds with one stone.
