Bougainvillea is a very popular flowering potted plant right now. Its flowers are very distinctive, come in many colors, and are brilliantly beautiful - lots of people love them!

I especially love Bougainvillea too, because its flowers are so vivid and pretty. Keeping one pot indoors adds endless color to life, but the Bougainvillea I grow barely blooms - even when it does, the bloom count is small, just a few sparse ones.

Then look at the Bougainvillea my neighbor Brother Wang grows - every pot he grows bursts with blooms, with flowers covering the branches. I was really envious watching it. Since he grows them so well, I had to learn humbly. Later, following the methods Brother Wang taught me, my Bougainvillea finally burst into a full pot of blooms too!

So when caring for Bougainvillea, you need to pay attention to these 2 points to get a full burst of blooms in every pot!

For Bougainvillea, the more light it gets, the more it blooms. I often kept my Bougainvillea in a bright spot with indirect light instead of placing it on the south balcony, so it only got 3 to 4 hours of light a day - that amount of light is far from enough!

If there is too little light, its branches will grow weak, which affects bud formation and directly reduces the bloom count. So to make Bougainvillea cover its branches with flowers, place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight. If the leaves wilt and droop, water it thoroughly once and it will quickly recover. After repeating this a few times, it will adapt to the environment.

If you want Bougainvillea to bloom more, it needs to grow more side branches. To get more side branches, you have to keep pinching off the tips and pruning the top. Don't go soft-hearted - some flower growers, maybe like me, can't bear to cut off branches that are growing well, which causes the branches to grow leggy and produce few side branches, so of course the bloom count is low.

So in everyday care of Bougainvillea, pay attention to these two points - more sunlight and more pinching of the tips - and you can increase the bloom count and get flowers covering the branches!

Isn't it simple?
