"Fresh lotus leaves first emerge from the stream, the flower house half reveals a faint pink." Yes, this is my garden. Whenever I have spare time I come here to steal half a day, working the soil, pulling weeds, watering... enjoying my time alone. I love flowers, and I dream of one day taking my son and the whole family to see the sea of cherry blossoms in Japan and admire the cherry blossoms, of wearing a trailing white gauze dress in a forest of ten miles of peach blossoms, watching peach petals cover the ground, strolling at leisure. There is a small courtyard, with succulents growing inside, living the fairy life of being free from worldly strife, ha...

Why do I love flowers so much? I think it's hereditary. Do you see the photo? These are my dad and mom. Back then my parents were only in their thirties, and I was just in elementary school. When my dad was young he especially loved growing flowers. Our family had a small courtyard, and what I remember most is that in summer the courtyard was full of blooming China roses, and in the early morning the petals would have dewdrops like pearls, shining with a soft luster, so beautiful! In autumn the whole courtyard was full of chrysanthemums, white, yellow, purple, red. As a child I didn't understand, I just thought they looked lovely.

Every day when my dad came home from work, if he had time, you'd see him humming a little tune while planting flowers in the courtyard. In the dog days of summer, my dad would wear big shorts and brave the scorching heat in the courtyard, taking endless joy in carrying water to water the flowers and fertilizing. It was because of this care that the flowers bloomed in a race to blossom, each one more beautiful than the last! His colleagues at school all came to our home to see the flowers, envying our little garden. Whenever the China roses bloomed we'd all compete to take photos. I have one too, wearing a little floral dress my mom made me, with two little braids, standing happily among the flowers. Even today, whenever I see flowers I can't help but pose and take photos beside them. The photo above is one I took before leaving when I saw beautiful flowers in the small courtyard of a homestay in Taiwan, China.

Hehe... Unfortunately Mom couldn't find the old photos today, so we could have a comparison, but having photos of Mom and Dad is just as meaningful. Where did the time go? In a flash thirty years have passed, the small courtyard is gone, and Dad has no time to grow flowers now. Mom said to me: "The flowers at home don't grow as well as before. The flower goddess let you take her away. You can grow anything and it survives"... Ha... Below are my little succulent spirits, come and enjoy them!

My little cuties, peach eggs!

Ice plum, the color has faded a bit, still beautiful, will be even more beautiful in winter!

Luoqi, the condition is still not bad, fellow succulent lovers say it goes well with the pot. Ha...

My copper pot, the shape is not bad!

Apple leaf, a pricey one. I just started liking this one this year. They say it's imported wild from abroad. Do you all think it's pretty?

Berkeley variegated, four heads, quite beautiful, just don't know if it can make it through summer safely!

White rose, photographed after the rain, beautiful!

Shaoxiu, so many heads, very sturdy!

Burro's tail, just make do looking at it.

Xiuyan after the rain, bright red, very beautiful!

Snow lotus, photographed during this year's spring snow. Growing snow lotus is so sad, several died, a bit disappointing

Peach eggs in the snow scene, so cute *^o^*

Sugar-heart angel, the angel has been my favorite since I fell into this hobby. This variety's condition here is just so-so. But ordinary angels can't reach much color when grown in Shanxi, which is a great pity!

Big peach egg, the pot is more expensive than the egg, this pot is my favorite!

Little ball rose variegated, this was a little sprout given to me when I bought succulents, and now it has grown into this, truly a girl changes beyond recognition at 18, ha...

Sedum japonicum, I'm quite satisfied that it can reach this condition so casually in Shanxi!

Still peach eggs, all so plump!

This one looks like an angel cristata, I like this lotus pot even more! The succulent and pot together look very artistic!

A whole table of succulents, beautiful, right! I won't photograph them one by one

Rose aeonium, it was so ugly when it came back, now it has taken shape!

Rose aeonium cristata, it hasn't grown beautiful yet, I have enough patience to wait for you to become beautiful!

Rauh, the condition is a bit green, but paired with the pot it's still quite rustic.

What's this fairy called? I forgot, I bought it following fellow succulent lovers joining the fun, as long as it's still alive I'm satisfied, ha...

String of coins, growing quite solid, condition is not bad!

Monroe, angel Monroe I can't tell apart, only this one still has some color...

White bear, look at my red nails, you can't deny it!

Green bear, beautiful, right!

Guanghan Palace, fairy-like enough, right! Seeing her I think of Chang'e, ha... I used to have a big single-head evening glow, a friend liked it, so I parted with it reluctantly... But I still have a multi-head evening glow, equally fairy-like!

Aren't my succulents beautiful! Next let me talk about painting. I've loved painting since I was little, but my dad was very traditional and didn't support me painting. He thought studying Chinese, math and foreign languages well was the real priority. I remember in middle school, the school organized a painting creativity contest, I drew an honest and simple Zhu Bajie, and even got second place. Ha... Even now I still feel it's a great regret... But my art teacher at the training institution told me that actually it's never too late to learn whatever you want, and it's not too late to learn now. So now every day when I have time I like to do some pottery and paint some cute little pots. Do you all like them? If you like them you can join in, let's learn together! I think this is not just a skill, most importantly it can cultivate the mind and nature, adding more color to life...

Are my hand-painted pots pretty? If you like them, come to the garden, hand-paint while creating. I really like this saying: "Unmoved by favor or disgrace, leisurely watch the flowers bloom and fall before the courtyard; indifferent to leaving or staying, casually follow the clouds roll and unroll beyond the sky." Life is actually a cultivation, pay more attention to all kinds of beauty around you, please slow down your steps, let us encounter beauty together, and let life have a little more beauty! The last photo, peach blossoms in the snow, is for you all...
