Thirsty Green Plants for Summer: Never Let Them Go Dry

Summer brings high temperatures and strong transpiration in plants, which makes watering flowers and plants a very important task. Below, I will introduce several flowers and plants that are especially fond of water; in summer, they especially need a sufficient water supply.
1. Monstera deliciosa (Swiss cheese plant)
Monstera deliciosa loves humid environments, especially under high summer temperatures, when it needs even more water. Generally, it should be watered once in the morning and once in the evening. Its leaves are relatively large and transpire heavily, so we also need to frequently spray water on the leaf surfaces, or spray water around the plant to keep the growing environment at a certain humidity.
2. Mint
Summer is the peak growing season for mint, and its water demand is relatively high. It is best to water once a day to keep the soil moist and provide sufficient light, which allows mint to grow more vigorously. In a dry environment, mint tends to develop yellow leaves.
3. Peperomia obtusifolia (baby rubber plant)
Peperomia obtusifolia is a common green plant on our office desks. When lacking water, its leaves easily lose their luster, and in the high-temperature summer season it especially needs a sufficient water supply. To care for Peperomia obtusifolia, choose soil with good drainage and aeration to avoid waterlogging.
4. Tradescantia zebrina (inch plant)
Tradescantia zebrina has relatively high ornamental value and is very popular. It loves humid environments. In the high-temperature season, it needs to be watered once a day, and in hot weather, water can be sprayed around the plant to keep the air humid, because a dry environment can easily cause the leaf edges of Tradescantia zebrina to scorch and wither.
5. Adiantum (maidenhair fern)
Adiantum is also a plant that loves water very much. In the high-temperature season, it needs a sufficient water supply, and the leaves can also be misted, which not only increases air humidity but also stimulates the growth of Adiantum and helps keep the leaves glossy.
