Gardenia: Feed a small bowl of homemade blooming fertilizer every 5 days for nonstop, big, white flowers

Gardenia stays evergreen all year round, with green leaves and white flowers and a pleasant fragrance. Its blooming period is from May to July. Many gardenia growers have surely experienced this: the leaves often turn yellow, and it also drops buds badly during the blooming period, which is very distressing.
Right now is exactly the blooming period of gardenia. Has your gardenia bloomed? Today Hua'er will introduce some tips for growing gardenia, so it blooms nonstop, big and white.
During normal care, gardenia leaves will turn yellow and it will also drop buds. This is because nutrients are insufficient. Besides phosphorus and potassium, other elements are also needed. You can make some "blooming fertilizer" yourself so it does not yellow or drop buds.
Specific method: prepare a clean mineral water bottle, add vinegar and honey, keeping the ratio at about 1:5, then dilute it 500 times, screw the cap on tightly and shake gently to mix. If you have distiller's grains at home, you can put a little in to speed up fermentation. Place it in a bright spot with indirect light and let it ferment fully. After about three days, unscrew the cap to let it breathe, and in about ten days it will be fully fermented.
Use the fermented solution, dilute it with water 50 times, and you can water the gardenia directly with it, or dilute it 100 times and spray the leaves. A small bowl every 5 days can prevent the leaves from turning yellow, stop bud drop, and promote blooming.
Note: if growers find this troublesome, they can directly use ferrous sulfate, and the effect is also very good.
During the blooming period, you also need to pay special attention to these 3 points:
1. Likes moisture
Gardenia likes moisture. In summer, when it is hot and dry, you need to give it water often. Air humidity must not be lower than 70%, otherwise it will affect flower bud differentiation and flower bud growth. But it also must not be too wet, otherwise it will cause root rot, yellow leaves, and leaf drop.
You can water once a day. If using tap water, let it sit for more than one day first so chlorine and other substances evaporate. You can also frequently spray water on the leaves and around them, but be careful not to spray water onto the flowers, otherwise the flowers will rot and drop.
2. Spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution
When the flowers are blooming and buds are forming, you can spray 0.1 potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution every week, which can promote gardenia blooming and extend the blooming period.
3. Pruning
Promptly prune off yellow leaves, old leaves, damaged leaves, and overlapping dense parts. You can also prune off the thinner and smaller ones among dense flower buds to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients, concentrate the nutrient supply, and keep the flowers blooming nonstop, big and white.
That is all for gardenia care. If growers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Hua Jian Ke!
