Succulents grown hydroponically in water can also fill out a pot, growing even more vigorously than those grown outdoors

Recently I saw a neighbor growing succulents hydroponically, with colorful little succulents packed into a transparent glass bottle, both beautiful and clean! So today Huahua will introduce a few simple hydroponic succulent tips for everyone!

Hydroponic succulents with roots

1. Prepare a transparent glass bottle: a gourd shape or one that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, so it is easy to hold the succulent at the upper opening; a transparent container makes it convenient to observe the state of the roots;

2. Choose a healthy and intact plant:

After taking the soil-grown succulent out of its pot, rinse it clean with water, cut off the old roots, keep about 3~5cm of new roots, soak the roots in a carbendazim solution diluted 2000 times to disinfect, then place it in a cool, ventilated place to dry for about 1 week.

3. Add water and put it in the bottle: pour more than half a bottle of tap water into the glass bottle, then put the prepared succulent in, so that part of the roots can touch the water.

1. Choose a vigorously growing succulent plant, behead it and place it in a cool place to dry, and after about 5 days the wound can heal.

2. Pour about 1/3 water into a narrow-mouthed transparent bottle, with the water level close to the bottom of the succulent, but it must not touch it.

3. Place the succulent in a ventilated place with scattered light for care, and it will take root in about 1 week. Gradually increase the amount of water according to the state of the roots.

4. Roots induced by water are relatively weak, so after the roots are stable they can be transplanted into potting soil for growing; when potting, first put a little soil in the flowerpot and pile it into a small cone shape, let the roots spread out and fill them in, then gradually add soil around the sides.

Key care points

1. Ventilation: Indoor hydroponic succulents must maintain air circulation to increase the oxygen in the water and promote the succulent's metabolism!

2. Foliar topdressing: On sunny and windless days, spray 0.15% monopotassium phosphate on the leaves in a place with scattered light to promote leaf growth.

3. Root pruning: When the succulent's roots grow too many and too dense, pruning is necessary, because the nutrients in the bottle are limited, and insufficient supply will affect the plant's growth.

How do you grow them, isn't hydroponics very simple?

Fellow flower lovers no longer need to worry about succulents rotting their roots!
