What to Do When Rose Leaves Dry Up? Cause Analysis and Solutions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are five situations in which rose leaves dry up. The first is overwatering, and simply reducing the amount of water is enough. The second is insufficient light, and more than six hours of light per day is needed. The third is poor air circulation, and the plant needs to be placed in a ventilated spot. The fourth is excessively high temperature, and the plant needs to be placed in a warm spot. The fifth is pest infestation, and the pests need to be removed.

1. Reduce the amount of water

(1) Specific cause: Although roses like moisture, you should not water blindly. When the amount of water is too large, the leaves easily dry up.

(2) Solution: You need to reduce the amount of water given each time, or perhaps extend the interval between two waterings. After a few weeks, it can recover.

2. Increase light

(1) Specific cause: Roses like light. If kept in too shady a place for a long time and unable to get sunlight, the leaves very easily become scorched and withered.

(2) Solution: You need to ensure at least six hours of light every day. Move the plant to a place with good light, such as a balcony.

3. Place it in a ventilated spot

(1) Specific cause: If kept for a long time in a dry, stuffy environment with poor ventilation and poor air, the leaves easily dry up.

(2) Solution: Place it in a well-ventilated spot and open the windows more often. Winter is no exception; windows should also be opened appropriately.

4. Place it in a warm spot

(1) Specific cause: The plant likes warmth and fears intense heat. When summer temperatures are very high, the leaves easily dry up.

(2) Solution: In summer, pay special attention to controlling the temperature, and take cooling measures when it is too high. In addition, it is best that the temperature difference between day and night is not too large.

5. Eliminate pests

(1) Specific cause: Roses are prone to being troubled by various insects, such as "red spider mites", "scale insects" and so on. They can all cause the leaves to dry up and do great harm.

(2) Solution: When there are few, you may not spray pesticide and can catch them by hand. When there are many, you need to spray pesticide.
