Grow ginger as a potted plant and it turns into a pot of lucky bamboo, beautiful and mosquito-repelling, stunningly pretty

Every household has ginger, but have you ever seen ginger grown as a potted plant? It is very beautiful! Actually, there is no need to waste it. Bury sprouted ginger in a flower pot, and the ginger sprouts have emerald green, slender leaves, very much like lucky bamboo, with a faint ginger scent, and they can even keep mosquitoes away. Let us take a look at the specific planting details:

Ginger's growing habits

Ginger likes a warm and humid environment. A temperature of 20-25°C is most suitable. Below this temperature it grows rather slowly. It is not cold-tolerant, and ginger that has suffered frost damage will not sprout

Soil

Mix one part each of garden soil, leaf mold and river sand, or mix garden soil, vermiculite, perlite and peat soil; either is fine, as long as the soil is loose, breathable and fertile. Because its root system is not well developed, drainage must be good, otherwise the ginger will easily rot.

Planting

Find a sprouted piece of ginger at home; this is fairly easy to find. If you do not have one, put a piece of ginger in water and it will sprout in a few days. Or you can directly buy a sprouted one at the supermarket.

Cut the ginger sprout away from the ginger, making sure to keep a piece of ginger flesh attached, so it can absorb nutrients later. If the ginger piece is not large, you can also bury it directly in the soil.

When planting, do not bury it too deep. The ginger sprout should be exposed above the soil surface, which helps its growth. It is best to also expose a little of the ginger flesh and not bury it completely.

After planting, water a little, put it in a shady place, and keep the temperature at around 20°C, and that is fine.

After small shoots grow, put it in a place with a little scattered light. Water moderately, keep the soil slightly moist, do not water too much, and especially do not let water accumulate. Pay attention to ventilation.

Its fertilizer needs are not great. According to its growth, add an appropriate amount of nutrient solution, or water it with fermented rice-washing water or thin cake fertilizer water; the concentration must not be too high.

It can survive and sprout in about two weeks, and in one month you can have a pot with a beautiful ginger plant! Watching it gradually grow to look like lucky bamboo is truly a beautiful thing!

It can also produce a lot of fresh ginger, take a look, is it not many jin?
