If you want to know the method for making bougainvillea bloom in explosive abundance, fertilizing is key. Ensuring sufficient nutrients is very important for the plant's growth and flowering. Mastering the fertilizing method for bougainvillea can keep it blooming continuously with lush branches and leaves!

Fertilizing methods for bougainvillea:

(1). When bougainvillea has sufficient fertilizer, combined with pinching, it can control excessive vegetative growth while making the leaves dark green and thick. The branches and leaves then carry out strong photosynthesis, absorb more nutrients, promote flower bud differentiation, and the flowers bloom more brilliantly and last longer.

(2). Fertilizing should be mainly based on organic fertilizer, and can be combined with 15% compound fertilizer. If conditions permit, you can make your own compost from fruit peels, yellowed vegetables, and so on. After the decomposed fertilizer water is diluted, apply it as a liquid feed.

(3). Spring is the peak season for sprouting, when the demand for nutrients is high, and the roots produced are relatively tender, so when fertilizing, apply a little dilute fertilizer water. Add a small amount of paclobutrazol to the fertilizer water. Before fertilizing, it is best to loosen the soil.

(4). After the spring sprouting period, the plant's new buds and root growth need nutrients, so fertilizing frequency should be increased, and fertilizer should be applied frequently. Fertilize once every 15 days. The concentration can be appropriately raised. After fertilizing, combining with watering can help the plant absorb nutrients better, which is beneficial to the growth of bougainvillea, keeping branches and leaves emerald green.

(5). Before flowering, when flower buds appear, heavy fertilizer needs to be applied. Combined with paclobutrazol, it helps the flower inflorescences emerge, the flower color become vivid, and the branches and leaves grow luxuriantly. When the temperature is below 12 degrees, stop fertilizing, because at this time the roots cannot absorb fertilizer.
