The man is under investigation by the RSPCA, but he actually lied to investigators, saying the first goldfish was nothing but a piece of carrot. According to reports, the man is named Ben Elphick, 23 years old, from Plymouth, UK. In the video, wearing shorts, he first mixes a cocktail, then pours a live goldfish from a clear plastic bag into the mixed drink, and then gulps it down. Then he turns and picks up a baseball cap from the table beside him; under the cap is another cup containing a live goldfish. Elphick once again does something shocking, swallowing the entire cup of water along with the goldfish.
Elphick uploaded the video of himself swallowing goldfish alive to the internet, where it quickly gained a large number of views and caught the attention of investigators from the UK's Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).
However, when faced with investigators, Elphick actually claimed that the first goldfish was nothing but a piece of carrot, and that he had not actually swallowed the second goldfish but hidden it under his tongue and spat it out after turning off the video.
