Every household has ginger, but have you ever seen ginger used to grow a potted plant? It is very beautiful! Actually there is no need to waste it either, use a large piece of ginger that has sprouted, bury it in a flower pot, and the ginger seedling's leaves are emerald green and slender, looking just like lucky bamboo, with a faint ginger scent, and they can even repel mosquitoes. Let us look at the specific planting details:

The growing habits of ginger

Ginger likes a warm and humid environment, with 20-25°C being the most suitable temperature; below this temperature it grows rather slowly, it is not cold-tolerant, and ginger that has suffered frost damage will not sprout

Soil

Mix one part each of garden soil, leaf mold and river sand, or mix garden soil, vermiculite and perlite, and peat soil, all work fine, as long as the soil is loose, breathable and fertile. Because its root system is not well developed, drainage must be good, otherwise the ginger easily rots.

Planting

Find a piece of sprouted ginger at home, which is fairly easy to find. If there is none, put a piece of ginger in water and it will sprout in a few days. Or just buy a sprouted one directly at the supermarket.

Separate the ginger sprout from the ginger, making sure to keep a piece of ginger flesh attached, so it can absorb nutrients well later. If the ginger piece is not large, it can also be buried directly in the soil.

When planting, do not bury it too deep; the ginger sprout should be exposed above the soil surface, which is good for its growth. It is best to also expose a bit of the ginger flesh, do not bury it completely.

After planting, water it a little, put it in a shady spot, at a temperature of around 20°C, and that is it.

After the seedlings emerge, put it in a place with a little filtered light. Water moderately, keep the soil slightly moist, do not water too much, and certainly do not let water accumulate. Make sure there is good ventilation.

Its demand for fertilizer is not great; according to its growth, add an appropriate amount of nutrient solution, or water it with fermented rice-washing water or diluted cake fertilizer water, all are fine, but the concentration must not be too high.

In about two weeks it will survive and sprout, and in a month you will have a pot with a beautiful ginger plant! Watching it gradually take on the look of lucky bamboo is truly a beautiful thing!

It can also produce a lot of fresh ginger, take a look, is that not many jin?
