What kind of experience is growing succulents? There is madness, there is obsession, but after the settling of years and time, we have gradually experienced inner peace in the succulent world~
It has been more than 3 years since I fell into the succulent pit. At first I bought countless succulents of all sizes and everything related to succulents; thinking back, I was crazy then too.
The first thing before and after work every day was to look at the succulents on the balcony, then casually take photos and pick a good-looking one to post on Moments. I think that is the most ordinary daily routine for succulent friends.
The succulents were basically all grown outdoors (except in summer and winter). At most, they filled the entire balcony. Every day I discussed with my husband which one looked good and which one had grown bigger (I am still very grateful to have a good husband who supports my succulent growing O(∩_∩)O haha~).
Summer is the pain of every succulent friend~ Last year's summer in Jiangnan caused heavy losses to my succulents; it was heartbreaking!!! The succulents that make it through summer are all heroes~
First, here is a group photo of some of the succulents. Under the bright sun, the vividly colored succulents are the most gorgeous, and the photos come out the best
The big, big, big common one, Kalanchoe delagoensis, who says it is immortal? Last winter it was frozen to death, grieving for 3 seconds. But succulents are also truly worthy of being called air plants; many pots have Kalanchoe delagoensis, hehe.
Pencil Cactus, the name sounds quite funny. Once it drinks enough water, it is satisfied; it is an easy one to grow. But if there are children at home, it is better not to grow it; when broken, it has white sap that is absolutely highly toxic.
Purple Heart, also of the same genus, is satisfied once it drinks enough water; whether it lacks water is very easy to judge by the leaves. It also grows quickly~ Looking forward to the day when it bursts full and hangs down covered with yellow flowers.
Fire Stick, easy to keep alive, can get through summer and winter. When it grows into an old plant, it is also easy to shape, naturally bending and hanging down, plus its brilliant red, so beautiful beyond words.
Chihuahua, once it grows out, it is no worse than the others, with red tips. When it rains, water droplets hit the powdery leaf surface; it is extremely beautiful
Variegated Portulaca, easy to fill a pot, unfortunately...
Aeonium, easy to keep alive from cuttings. I really like its leaf arrangement
Guanghan Palace, the name sounds kind of upscale. It is prone to leggy growth, but with enough sunlight and enough water it also grows well, and its root system is developed too. Below are two comparison photos.
Unknown name, easy to sprout multiple heads, constantly repotting... tiring... When making records, there is also a slow sense of accomplishment
White Phoenix, looking at the white leaves with a pink blush, there is a desire to protect it forever
Yunhe? It once had pests for a while, so I rinsed it at intervals. (Picking off pests is too troublesome, so I rinsed it under tap water; most of them can still be washed off.)
The ones below are also common ones; I did not specially record their names. They are also beautiful~
The Sedum rubrotinctum in the heart-shaped pot sprouts easily from leaf propagation. Growing like this makes it hard to repot; one careless move and it breaks...
Some blue succulent, I forgot exactly what it is called, my fault, my fault. One of my favorites...
Finally, the ones with bumps... Kalanchoe beharensis and the "bumpy cabbage"
This is a complicated world, full of deceit and scheming. Growing succulents is also an attempt to let myself quiet down; after all, that is a world free from contention.
