A gardening friend's photo: my hydrangea still hasn't produced any flower buds, can it still bloom this year? For this one of yours, there's not much hope of it blooming this year, but you can wait until next year and there will be flowers to see. Your plant has yellowing leaf edges, a bit of a nutrient deficiency, so I suggest giving it some fertilizer. Let's talk about what conditions a hydrangea needs in order to bloom.
The flower bud differentiation of hydrangeas requires low temperatures of around 5 to 7 degrees for a period of one to one and a half months, and only then can its flower buds fully form.
It can also be controlled through short-day treatment. You can give it complete darkness for more than ten hours a day, and after about one and a half months flower buds can also emerge.
Once the above two conditions for flower bud differentiation are met, it will be able to bloom. However, the dark treatment has one more prerequisite: the temperature must not be too high. Especially in summer, once the temperature exceeds 28°C, it grows slowly or stops growing altogether. Since it has stopped growing, applying the dark treatment again won't make it produce flowers either.
If you want it to bloom, be sure to remember this. In autumn, try your best to supplement it with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. By late autumn, when it is differentiating flower buds, it will then have enough nutrients to produce more flower buds, and when the time comes it will bloom more. And it will be beautiful. Do these few things, and it will bloom like crazy every time.
