A flower enthusiast bought fresh-cut jasmine. After putting it in water, the leaves started dropping within a few days. Can the stems be used for cuttings?
These stems can be used for cuttings. Before you take cuttings, I suggest you first check the bottom of the stem to see whether it has turned black or grown mold.
If it has, trim the bottom cut again. Leave a large diagonal cut, shorten the stem to keep two or three nodes, and keep two half-leaves or one whole leaf. This makes one cutting. Use pure river sand, or a prepared nutrient soil mix for rooting the cuttings. The main thing is that the soil is loose and breathable, and bacteria-free soil can all be used. After inserting the cuttings, water the soil thoroughly with carbendazim mixed in water, cover it with a plastic bag, and poke several large holes in the bag. Keep it ventilated to prevent mold from forming inside. Place it in a well-ventilated spot with bright, indirect light, and in about one month or so, it will root and sprout.
Because the temperature is too high, during this period you need to uncover the plastic bag every one to two days and let it air out for about half an hour. Before covering it again, check whether the potting soil is dry, and if it is dry, water it thoroughly right away. Actually, the method is very simple. Wishing you success!
