Lucky Bamboo is mostly grown in water. Today Huacaoer will introduce 3 small tips for growing Lucky Bamboo, so it grows nonstop, with white, thick roots, lush foliage, and leaves bigger than your palm!
1. Changing the water
Lucky Bamboo is in its growing period from April to October, with very fast metabolism. Generally, when the water quality becomes cloudy, you need to change its water. In summer, you need to change its water about every 3 days, otherwise the roots will turn black and the leaf tips will yellow. When the air is relatively dry, spray more water on the leaves to increase humidity. When changing the water, add some hydrogen peroxide tablets to the Lucky Bamboo to increase the oxygen content in the water, so the roots can breathe better, speed up metabolism, and promote growth.
Note that before changing the water, prepare the water in advance; at minimum, let the water sit in the sun for half a day first. The water change should be done in the morning or evening, otherwise it easily damages the roots. After every 2-3 water changes, add a little potassium permanganate for sterilization and disinfection.
2. Light
Lucky Bamboo likes a semi-shaded environment and must not be exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will yellow and curl. Now that the sunlight is getting stronger and stronger, move it to a more shaded environment and let it receive more scattered light, which lets it grow better.
3. Nutrients
Lucky Bamboo needs plenty of nutrients for growth, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, which can make its roots fat and branches strong, with glossy green leaves, increasing its ornamental value. Apply light fertilizer frequently; you can use water-soluble nitrogen fertilizer, applying fertilizer once every two water changes.
