How to Grow a Radermachera sinica (China Doll)? 5 Tips for Lush Green Leaves and Vigorous Growth

The Radermachera sinica stays evergreen all year round and is a common household plant. If you want your Radermachera sinica to grow luxuriantly, you need to place it in a suitable spot according to its habits so it receives appropriate light. Ensuring proper watering and reasonable fertilizing will keep your Radermachera sinica lush and green, growing vigorously every day!
How to grow a Radermachera sinica?
(1). The Radermachera sinica should be placed on a balcony or near a window where there is good light, and make sure there is ventilation. If it is kept in a poorly lit spot for a long time, it will easily drop its leaves. During the seedling stage, a semi-shaded environment is better. A mature Radermachera sinica likes plenty of light. In summer, just be careful to provide shade and promptly move it to a place not directly exposed to sunlight.
(2). Water until the soil is thoroughly soaked, keeping the soil in a slightly moist state. It should not be too much or too little. In summer, increase the amount of watering; in winter, you can appropriately reduce watering. If you find water accumulating in the pot, drain it as soon as possible, and after the potting soil has dried out, repot and change the soil.
(3). For the soil, you can mix 5 parts garden soil, 3 parts leaf mold, 1 part decomposed base fertilizer, and 1 part river sand into a potting mix, add base fertilizer mixed with a small amount of decomposed flower leaves. During the growing season, loosen the soil once a month to ensure soil permeability and keep the Radermachera sinica growing better.
(4). Keep the daytime temperature for the Radermachera sinica between 19°C and 21°C, and the nighttime temperature between 18°C and 20°C. In midsummer, keep it below 27°C. In winter, the temperature should not be lower than 8°C, otherwise it is prone to frost damage.
(5). Reasonable pruning can make the plant more attractive. Generally, prune it into a mushroom shape or a rounded mound shape, cutting away all old leaves, dead branches, yellow leaves, and diseased or weak branches, otherwise they will consume nutrients.
