"Fragrant and beautiful, filling every branch, both fragrant and white, praised by all" - this familiar song is about the jasmine we know best. As summer arrives, jasmine also ushers in a great time for brilliant blooming.

They are pure and white, overflowing with fragrance, truly worthy of the saying "a single plant can perfume a whole room". Therefore the elegant and noble jasmine is loved and sought after by many flower lovers.

So how do you care for your jasmine so it blooms bigger and more fragrant than others'? Actually it is not hard at all,you just need to firmly remember the following points, and your jasmine is sure to have an intoxicating fragrance.

Sufficient light

Jasmine needs plenty of sunlight to grow, because it is along-day, sun-loving plant, requiring more than five hours of sufficient light each day. With insufficient sunlight, jasmine's internodes will be sparse, the flower buds will be small and the fragrance will be lacking. The midday summer sun is very harsh, so shade them in good time to prevent the buds from wilting from scorching.

Suitable soil

If you want jasmine to grow better, soil with a suitable pH is very important. The soil chosen for growing jasmine is best a fertile sandy or semi-sandy soil. Jasmine likes slightly acidic soil,an acidity value of pH6-PH6.5 has a good promoting effect on jasmine's growth, and can make the flower buds open larger and whiter, with a richer fragrance too.

Reasonable watering

In the daily care of jasmine, learning how to water them is also very important. Because jasmine is not drought-tolerant, but hates waterlogging in the pot, especially duringthe bud-forming and flowering period, it needs even more sufficient water, requiring watering once in the morning and once in the evening.

We can mist the leaves, and can also sprinkle some water on the ground around the plant, to increase the air humidity and create a good warm and humid growing environment for the jasmine.

Note that during the flowering period, do not spray water on the flowers, as this will cause the flowers to drop early and the fragrance to become weaker. Only with enough water can jasmine's flowers open larger; with insufficient water, the flower buds will be very small and the fragrance will also be greatly reduced.

Timely fertilizing

In the high-temperature season, jasmine grows very vigorously. During this period, apply more organic fertilizer and phosphorus-potassium fertilizer. Try not to apply nitrogen fertilizer; too much nitrogen fertilizer can easily cause excessive vegetative growth and affect bud formation.

Here the editor wants to teach everyone alittle fertilizing trick: when we water and fertilize the jasmine, wait until the surface of the potting soil turns slightly white and a bit dry, and there are some small cracks along the edge of the pot, then fully dilute acidic organic nutrient solution with water and pour it in. At this time jasmine's absorption effect is very good, so this both replenishes water, and jasmine naturally blooms vigorously with fragrance filling the air.

Timely pruning

Jasmine grows fast in summer, so timely pruning is very important, as this will help it bloom again after the flowers fade.Pruning can promote the sprouting of new shoots, making the branches dense and the buds numerous, and naturally there will be more flowers. When pruning, cut off the plant's spent flowers and dead branches, and also cut away some leggy branches and weak or diseased branches, otherwise they will affect the other healthy branches.
