Remember 3 points for the care of pennywort (Hydrocotyle vulgaris): round, glossy green leaves and easy bursting pots

The leaves of pennywort are round and smooth, glossy, and evergreen. It is easy to grow and easily fills its pot. It looks great as an accent on windowsills, balconies, tea tables and desks.
If you want pennywort to stay green and evergreen all year round without turning yellow, with round, glossy leaves, remember the 3 "mores" and it will easily fill its pot!
More sunlight
Pennywort likes a sunny environment. Plenty of light lets its leaves carry out photosynthesis better, reduces the chance of leaves turning yellow, and keeps promoting new leaf growth, so it will keep filling its pot. You can place it on a south-facing balcony, just shade it during the hot midday hours, and leave it alone the rest of the time.
More watering
Whether grown in water or in soil, pennywort cannot do without moisture. Many growers report that if pennywort goes one day without watering, its leaves wilt and turn yellow, or even drop off. So if growing in soil, it is best to water once a day, but the soil should stay well aerated. If growing in water, keep the container well filled, at least covering the roots, so the roots can absorb water promptly and effectively; only then will they not draw water from the leaves, and the leaves will stay firm, thick and glossy!
More fertiliser
During pennywort's growing stage, water and light are the most basic requirements, and fertiliser is essential too. Every 10 days you can drip in some nutrient solution to supply enough nutrients, promote growth, and make the leaves round, green and even glossier, directly improving its ornamental effect.
Meet these three points - more water, more light, more nutrients - and pennywort will find it hard not to fill its pot!
That's all for today's sharing!
