Potted fruit trees on the balcony are laden with fruit, gorgeous with flowers in spring and fruit to admire in autumn

The year before last, I got several small potted China longevity peach plants from a friend. They already started bearing fruit last year. In spring you can enjoy the flowers, and in summer and autumn you can admire the fruit. When they bloom in spring, the colors are vibrant and very gorgeous. In summer and autumn, the fruit gradually turns from green to red, looking especially eye-catching, and once the fruit ripens, you can really feast on it. It is an excellent potted ornamental flowering and fruiting plant for the home.
The longevity peach is one of the peach varieties especially suitable for potting. The plant is short, 30-100 cm tall, with very short internodes and dense flower buds. The flowers are double-petaled, with varieties in bright red, pink, white, and bicolor. If several are grafted together, the blooms are vibrant and very gorgeous. After flowering, it sets fruit, and when the fruit ripens in August and September, it has a vertical split. It is an excellent ornamental flowering and fruiting plant with flowers to admire in spring and fruit in summer and autumn. Peaches are delicious and nutritious, and are one of people's favorite fresh fruits. The longevity peach has the characteristics of bearing fruit early, not being too strict about soil conditions, and being easy to cultivate and manage, so it is deeply loved by people.
The longevity peach has a shallow but fairly well-developed root system, so it is best to plant it in a slightly wider earthenware pot with good permeability and a diameter of about 30 cm. Mix leaf mold and garden soil in equal amounts, then add a small amount of sand and a trace of iron powder to make a loose, fertile growing medium. Avoid heavy clay soil. When potting or repotting and changing the soil for the longevity peach, it is best to keep the root ball intact, and avoid planting it too deep. The best time to change the soil is after leaf fall in winter or in early spring. Line the bottom of the pot with a layer of crushed plastic foam or broken bricks to improve air permeability and drainage and prevent root rot.
The longevity peach is tolerant of drought, not tolerant of wetness, and even more afraid of waterlogging. Do not water until the potting soil is dry, and when you do water, water thoroughly, so that it alternates between dry and moist. During the rainy season, move it to a place where it will not be rained on but still gets plenty of light, otherwise it easily drops fruit. The longevity peach likes sunlight very much. A balcony or courtyard is a good place to grow it. During growth, as long as there is enough light, it will bloom and bear fruit.
