Gardenias and jasmine are two of my favorite flowering potted plants. Their flowers are pure white and full of fragrance. With one pot indoors, you can even skip the air purifier.

If you want to grow gardenias and jasmine well, you need to master their growing habits and also use good methods. Gardenias and jasmine just love this stuff - add a little vinegar, use it once every 30 days, and the flowers will be pure white with a rich fragrance.

Both gardenias and jasmine are suited to growing in an acidic environment. In alkaline and neutral soil they grow poorly, and may even suffer root rot and fail to bloom. So if you want gardenias and jasmine to grow vigorously and bloom abundantly, you need to create an acidic environment for them.

The soil may be acidic when first mixed, but that acidity is only temporary. In the course of later care, watering or fertilizing may both alkalize the soil and strip away its acidic nature, and then the plants will grow poorly.

So in later care, we can dilute vinegar and use it to spray the leaves or water the roots, once every 30 days. This can acidify the soil and meet the growing conditions of gardenias and jasmine, and they will grow more and more vigorously!

Besides adding vinegar, you also need to add something when potting up and repotting!

Add pine needles

When potting up, you can add pine needles to the potting soil. They can adjust the soil's pH, make the soil acidic, and increase drainage, reducing the chance of root rot!

Add ferrous sulfate

When potting up and repotting, besides adding pine needles, you can also add ferrous sulfate. Ferrous sulfate can acidify the soil and improve the plant's absorption rate of iron, reducing the chance of yellow leaves.

That's all for today's sharing!
